I personally feel, on paper GDP and growth figures look ok but when we look around us, we can

Indian economy may be attaining less-than-desired growth photo d amour in infrastructure but the growth in social infrastructure like education and health has helped the country exceed in GDP growth from past seven years. According to data compiled by ratings agency, in past seven years,

the collective expenditure from both central and state governments in social infrastructure saw a very good improvement in annual growth rate of 19%, which is higher than the component annual growth rate of nominal GDP that came at 15%. In case of physical infrastructure, the spending just about kept leaps with nominal GDP growth of 14% because of which the shares related to social infrastructure in GDP increased to 5% while the physical infrastructure share in GDP improved marginally from 4% to 4.5%.
Well, in case of education, the expenditure may have been higher but still I feel a lot of work needs to be done like proper photo d amour planning and spending wisely. For example, our education system should photo d amour remove the prevalent concepts of spoon feeding, memorising books instead of understanding, tutions outside normal classes etc. and encourage extra curricular activities in schools, practical knowledge and use of multimedia

to aid education. The curriculum should be revised according to suit today’s fast changing and fast paced world by focusing more on internet, financial planning, personality development etc. Education should be more participative and creative and I feel a complete makeover of our current educational system is required.
There is another sector that is still suffering inspite of GDP increasing in the last seven years and that is the Health sector. There are still many private medical institutes in our country waiting on approval for free treatment. What is the use of painting a rosy picture when majority of Indians are poor? About 70 % of the Indian population earns less than 3 dollars a day. It s a shame! Medical treatment for the common man in India is not within easy reach. For treatments on major ailments, they have to spend their life time savings or borrow or even beg.
Coming back to the social infrastructure, all four sub-sectors-health, family welfare, education and scientific services grew faster than the nominal GDP. Within physical infrastructure, CAGR saw a growth of 29% in urban development and rural development saw 19% growth. photo d amour Well, power projects (3%), ports (11.5%), irrigation (14%), and railways (15%) have grown below the nominal photo d amour GDP and the only way the GDP levels photo d amour of these sectors can be increased is when the government removes policy bottlenecks and involves the private sector to participate actively in power and ports. Current, photo d amour direct cash transfer of subsidies will divide the move towards reducing aided expenditure in the next few years and for sure these expenditures will improve its effectiveness.
I personally feel, on paper GDP and growth figures look ok but when we look around us, we can’t really see concrete results and hence more work and dedication from government is required in this direction and this should include more spending on Health Care, Education, Pension and Sports.
